Vitual memory is too low

Hi,

It is the portion of the hard drive that is used to store memory pages when
the amount of ram the system needs exceeds the memory capacity of the
machine. The low VM warnings can have several causes, but the most
frequently seen ones are caused when the user has filled the hard drive to
near capacity, or when they have set restrictions on the upper size limit of
the pagefile (the name of the file used for the virtual memory). For the
former, you need to clean up the drive housing pagefile.sys so that it has
room to expand. For the latter, you need to undo any restrictions (mainly
these would only be done by advanced users).

Also, do you have Intel Application Accelerator installed? If so, you need
to uninstall it and install the latest version. The older ones are
incompatible with WinXP and can cause this error message.

If not, then try this: Go to System properties/advanced/performance
settings/advanced tab/virtual memory change and disable the swap file.
Reboot. Delete all instances of pagefile.sys from all drives should any
exist, then reverse the original steps and reenable the swap file. Reboot
once more to finish. See if this helps,

Please note that the OP is looking for XP tips such that he can create his
own help site.. I saw his post a couple of days ago where he was asking for
them..

...and if he repeats pip22's advice then OP will have some *extremely*
unhappy clients. ;-)
