Visual C++ Runtime Library Error

In the last day, when initially booting XP, I get the
following Error window on my desktop:
Runtime error!
Program c:\Program files\Common files\updmgr\updmgr.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate
it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's
support team for more information.

What do I need to do?
