1st, my apology but I can't find WinVista user group. Am I overlooking the
forest for the trees.

Given that, is there a REPAIR function in Vista like in XP or is only a FULL
RESTORE option available. For some reason I do not have any restore check
points.

Yup
microsoft.public.windows.vista.general, and an entire
microsoft.public.windows.vista.* hierarchy.

No, Vista sadly doesn't have the same repair capabilities as Win2K and
WinXP. It uses an entirely different installation mechanism.
