Vista---->Xp

You will have to choose the option to FORMAT the disk and install XP fresh
again (CLEAN INSTALL),
since there is no way to DEGRADE (upgrade towards a lower version of
windows).

But that will give you a fresh clean and FAST XP machine...

Before you do that make sure you have backuped all your data since they will
be lost in the format!

I congratulate you on your Choice. XP RULES!

Robert XP won't install 'over' Vista because Vista will tell it that it that
Vista is a later version and the install will fail. What you will need to do
is a reformat the drive using the windows XP CD. This is only possible if
you have a full copy (not an upgrade) of XP.Check out these links on my
website:

http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_format_my_hard_drive_us.htm

http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_install_windows_xp.htm

Just remember to backup any important data that you need from your Vista
install before attempting to reformat. Also make sure you have any necessary
drivers available, particularly if you are running SATA hard drive.

I have to agree, Tiberius, VMWare products are 'definitely far superior to
Microsoft VPC 2007. I have to say that I prefer VMWare Workstation to Server
but, as Workstation is around $200 and server is free there isn't much
contest. I haven't used Server for a long time, but Workstation does have
USB functionality which, sadly VPC 2007 does not.

Hello

there is also one more trick I dont know if you know...

you can combine www.easyvmx.com with vmware player

to CREATE virtual machines to use with player...

perhaps that trick will interest you, if you dont already know it that is...

Indeed Vmware workstation is the best... it has incredible snapshots...

the only drawbacks with vmware is that it installs too many services that
slow the pc a bit
because they dont turn off when not in use.. however I have manages to make
some scripts that
control these..
