Did you look in Control Panel>Problem Reports>click Check for
solutions, then view problem reports. And then right click on any problems
and view details to get an idea of what might be causing the problem.

From what I have observed here, the fault bucket number is important,
and you should report that back here.

Good Evening:

Each time I open a folder [Window +E] and double-click on a file, the
message Windows Explorer has stopped working. It runs through its process
then says Windows Explorer is restarting. What causes this and how can I
stop it? I cannot open any files to use. Thank You for your assistance.

Respectfully,

Simvacious Lady ~ Dee

What program or process caused the problem?

The Bucket ID reported is: 345484694

There are so many different reports in Problem Reports and most of them have
not been sent. I am new at Vista and still learning my way around the OS.
Thank You for Responding and for your Assistance.

Good evening to you again Simvacious Lady,

There are others here that are far, far more able to help you.

But, I believe that as a general rule, it is probably more helpful to them
if you copy and past the entire message in Problem Reports.
Also, you should use Event Viewer to see if you can find helpful
information there.

I am very lucky to have had NO major problems with Vista, only a
few minor knocks and annoyances which were all very easy to solve.
Your problem is very serious indeed, and I hope you will be able to
resolve it.

Do you have ZipGenius installed on your system? What file version of that
do you have? I'm suspicious that you have zgtips.dll , perhaps version
6.1.2.2025 , on this system.

Note that this is just an educated guess at this point.

Wow! You must be psychic! Yes! I have ZipGenius 6 installed. I did a
search for zgtips.dll but no results. I went into the programs file itself
and there it is: zgtips.dll v. 6.1.2.2025. Okay, tell me your secret. Are
you in my computer {Smile]?

Thanks for all your assistance

OK - then the best options here:
* Get an update from ZipGenius. Does their support know of any Vista
problems using your version?
* Uninstall ZipGenius

Either should likely fix you up. I would really really love to know any
data that they had for as regarding a fix for this issue. That could
potentially benefit anybody else who runs into this.

I'm just a random developer at Microsoft who's trying to help lend a hand to
people. =)
