VISTA Ultimate RTM - Shutdown problem

I have the VISTA RTM downloaded 11/23/2006 (very cool).
Installed on a Compaq Presario V2582us.
When I select SHUTDOWN; windows shuts down but the machine is still running.
All wireless, audio, power on lights are on.
The video appears to shutdown and there is no hard drive activity.
I have to hold the power button until the power kills.
This also happens with RESTART.


Any ideas,

Hopefully Compaq will soon provide a Vista compatible power management
utility for your computer.
 
That sounds like you are running it in media mode...go into power management
and check in the advanced bit to see if media mode is running.
