Vista support for multiple display drivers

I understand that when you have a WDDM driver installed on Vista, it
will not allow other display drivers from different manufacturers to
run at the same time on the Vista machine (i.e., two different graphics
cards from two different companies can't work simultaneously on Vista).
A few questions:

1. Is it possible for Vista to not install WDDM support for a
WDDM-supported graphics card in order that the user can still use
multiple graphics cards (obviously losing the Vista Premium features
along the way)?

2. If the answer to 1 is no, has anyone figured out a way to make
aftermarket graphics cards and video dock stations work on a Vista
machine?

Many thanks...

You are more likely to receive an informed answer to MS Vista questions if
you post to one of the many MS Vista News Groups, rather than to an MS
Windows XP News Group.
