Is Service Pack 1 officially available and will it down load automatically?
I can see all kinds of problems being reported by many downloader's that it
makes me wonder if it is practical to download?

Jim

April 18th is the date SP1 will be generally available
for automatic installation via Windows Update.
99.9% of Vista users that already installed SP1
have had no problems with the installation.

And 100% of the time Carey gives a percentage, you can be certain Carey
is making it up.

And how do you get these stats? Where are they posted? Or did you just pull
the figure out of your ass, like most of the stuff you post here? SP1 has
been so problematic that Microsoft has been forced to actually give free
support for the failing installs of SP1. They certainly wouldn't have done
this if just .1% of Vista users were experiencing problems with it,
considering it isn't even April 18th yet. Or do they expect this percentage
to really escalate when it becomes "generally available"?

Figures don't lie, but liars sure can figure.

Cheers.

Really? I don't remember MS offering "No-charge: Unlimited support
requests" by phone for either of XPs SPs so far.

Really? The only lie that I see is the one about Vista's SP1 free
unlimited phone support being "traditional."
Figures don't lie, but liars sure can figure.

And you are 100% deranged! "Figures don't lie!"

Yeah, NoStop would have to figure out how to do something (lie) that
comes quite naturally to you.
yeah, Cheers you POS lying linux troll

You are so cool! Where can I learn how to make an ass out of myself

Hey Frank, you retarded piece of brain dead crap, listen up...

I installed SP1 a few days ago. No surprise, it is a big ugly bitch,
hundreds of MBs took 40 minutes on a high speed connection to download
and install the pig. Screen blacked out the usual several times during
the process, then I got a "new and improved" Vista or so the nitwit
squad would have the majority of numbnuts that post here believe.

Bottom line, did it resolve any of the issues it was suppose to fix?

Hell no, if anything it is now worse with a new moronic "warning"
message saying the system made a change to blah, blah and oh... it was
Microsoft that made the change as the nag screen confirms. So now you
get warnings that Windows itself changed something and oh, because of
it your system may be more unstable. How crazy are the boys of Redmond
anyway?

Worse, I now get frequent Com Surrogate error messages when trying to
play some media files I didn't before SP1. So now at least Windows is
smart enough to nag about itself screwing up your computer. I guess
that's progress. At least Microsoft is moving towards pointing it's
finger at what is the biggest danger to your computer. Windows itself,
which smarter people have known for years.

Now go back to pissing all over yourself Frank, it's what you do best
as smarter readers of this newsgroup already know, you clueless idiot
and dumb fu*k.

You know something mr pig...I've long ago sliced and diced your little
piggy ass up into very thin little strips and fried you up really good!
You're done pal, and I no longer have any use for your drunken POS idiot
stupid loser ass.
You bore me!
IOW's, I no longer give a sh*t about you or your ill-informed opinion
about MS or Vista or anything for that matter.
Bye, bye mr pig...LOL!

Yes, but see Mark's response for reasons why you might not have it
yet.

makes me wonder if it is practical to download?

Two points:

1. From my personal experience, I have seen no problems with it.

2. Whenever *anything* new comes out, you see reports of problems with
it. Contrast the number of reports of problems you've seen with the
number of people who have installed it. Problems have been very few.

I recommend installing it, but it's always prudent to be sure your
backed up when you take a big step. No matter how unlikely, something
can always go wrong.

Reality check for dumbass Frank.

If I bore you, then you can explain how you just had to reply to my
post and just about everybody else's in under an hour? You almost
always do which confirms you have NO life other than hanging out here.

Conclusion: Frank, the perennial little pissant and world class moron
he is has NO LIFE outside this backward newsgroup which he hangs out
in day and night seven days a week.

Posting crap here IS this worthless dumbass' life. He lives to spew
the same tired crap over and over. How pathetic. Of course when you
take into consideration Frank is a proven pathological liar, a total
fraud, a world class phony and all around dummy that understands
nothing about computers or life in general, then it becomes clear why
Frank acts like a six year old having endless hissy fits.

Interesting how many posters are now pissing all over Frank 24/7. It
seems Frank loves to get pissed on. Odd hobby.

You still pretending you run a business, fool?

The only "business" little Frankie dimwit has is trying to pull his
head out of his dumb ass. Lots of luck with that loser, you head has
been stuck up there for years already.

If somebody finds out they have a rare form of brain cancer that's
ALWAYS 100% fatal and inoperative and you're told you're going to die
in six weeks, generally most people have considerable sympathy for
such a unlucky victim.

Typical MVP and head up their ass blind Microsoft supporter like the
idiot Frank says oh look 99 out of 100 people have no problems with
Vista, therefore nothing is wrong with it, you got to be an idiot,
those that have problems are just whining totally blowing off the
unlucky 1 in a 100 that has nothing but problems with the pile of crap
called Vista.

Therefore is isn't the number of people that have problems, rather
accepting SOME indeed do have problems some serious and there is no
way the lunkhead losers that hang out here will ever give a crap...
unless of course they happen to be one of the unlucky ones then they
will scream their asses off!

Ugh - can't reply to the original post by Adam because that post was culled
due to the abusive language. =P

Hey Adam, what's the fault bucket data for your COM surrogate crash
according to the Problem Reports and Solutions Center? That shouldn't be
too hard to puzzle out.
