Vista on windows 2000 network

Hi!
I would like to know if I'll have any problems with a network with windows
2000 pro and server with Windows
Im going to buy a new notebok but I dont know about OS, XP or Vista with a
core duo .

hi, i dont mean to jump on your thread but was having problems with this
topic. iv got a quistion about windows vista, hope you dont mind me botherin
ya about it. well anyway my mother inlaw bought a laptop with windows vista
and she has a windows xp desktop. iv got it so it connects to the internet
and secure that way but i cant get it to share files and printer. i tried to
run the network setupe wizard from xp to the vista but was not compatible and
cant figure out how to do it from vista to the xp
