On Windows Vista Ultimate, I am having a problem with Media Center. I use
the DVR and record shows the the PC, it works fine about 60% of the time.
The other 40% of the time I get this error randomly.
"VIDEO ERROR Files need to to display video are not installed or not working
corectly. Please restart Media Center of the computer"
Why in the heck if I can play the SAME show, on the SAME channel, with the
SAME PC today, but tomorrow I can not play the video the next day and get
this error.
There is no answer except for this is a problem with Vista. Is there any
hotfix for this? Surely it could not be a driver or Codec if it works one
day, but not the next with the same software and hardware.
Also, out of the box I have problems playing the DVD, often I get "THE DVD
is in USE BY ANOTHER PROGRAM", but I have no idea which program, I try
shutting off windows Media, and then real audio.
Ahhh, XP is so much easier. Maybe I will take Vista offline until SP1 to see
if it changes. I have the same video card, and TV card in XP and it works
the same everytime. Usually software either works or it doesnt, intermittent
software is the most annoying thing in the world!
Thank you,
