Vista has a selective memory

The problem regards a Canon Pixma MP160 scanner.

I installed the scanner perfectly fine, and then uninstalled it. Trying to
install it again, and Vista won't recognise the install disc. At all.

Help? Please?
 
Have you tried putting the cd in and then trying to access it with
Explorer? Have you rebooted?
 
Several times, yes. I'm manually installing each driver now (from the
website), but really am confused as to why the computer hasn't recognised the
disc the second time through.
 
Have you tried another CD?
