Hi,

can I setup Vista firewall to ask me, if I want to enable outcomming
connections (like for incomming)?(for each program)
I don't want to enable this for each program manually in policies,
thanks

Hi Slavio,

No, there is no feature that will do that (I think perhaps you are thinking
of the style of prompt that Zone Alarm uses?).

Unfortunately, the firewall is currently deficient in this area. Hopefully
MS will provide that functionality in the future.

There may possibly be an event in Event Viewer that you could link a
scheduled task to eg a socket creation event. Couldn't spot one offhand,
though, that can easily be linked to a task.
The 'Applications and Services logs > Microsoft > Windows > WinInet' events
might have been one possibility, but these events seem to have been disabled
from attaching a task to them (?).

Other than that, it's possible to toggle the outward bound blocking on and
off via script, or to automate the process of setting up a firewall rule for
a given program.
