Vista Encryption Problem!

I have had encryption (EFS, not BitLocker) enabled on Vista for almost a
week now with no problems. Then suddenly, I logged in this morning and I am
unable to access any of the encrypted files and I am not able to decrypt
them. The certificate is still on the computer so I'm confused why this is
happening. Any ideas???!

Now it's prompting me to enter my smart card pin . . . but I've never used a
smart card EVER . . . why does Vista think I've set this up to use a smart
card?
