Vista desktop background

Does anyone know why i cant change my background in vista, or how i may go
about doing that. I ran a virus/spyware scan and clean out my comp. and so i
know its not that....but i STILL cant change it...only to solid colors.
Please anyone??
 
Had the same problem. Vista is evil. This worked for me:

In control panel go to ease of access center
At the bottom, choose "Make it easier to focus on tasks"
Under "Reading" see if "Remove background images" box is checked.
If it is, uncheck it and that should get your desktop wallpaper back.
