vista boot problem

i am running vista with an amd dual processor and my problem is the last time
i tried to boot up, i got as far as the amd screen. the hard drive light
shows that it is working, but no boot. no new programs have been installed
nor any other recent changes. ran a virue scan yesterday, none. anyone have
any ideas?

It's hard to tell by what you're writing. Give the computer some time, and
if the problem persists boot from the Vista installation disk and do a
system repair.

I have had this problem with Vista (and XP also) and both times it was a
motherboard HDD cable connection issue. I guess the gremlins wiggle those
loose too at times. Before doing anything drastic, check your cable
connections. I have also seen a similar problem on another computer with a
loose memory module. It can't hurt anything to check this before trying
something else.
