I was able to beta test Windows XP before it came out, but cannot remember
how I went about getting it. I know I was directed to it by someone in the
alt.windows-me newsgroup. I have looked on the Microsoft sight but cannot
find anything. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I could
do this, or if it is even possible. Thanks for any help.

Beta testing of Windows XP ended in 2001.
To my knowledge, there are no new openings
currently available for beta testing Vista.
Those invitations went out well over a year ago.

Microsoft is located in Redmond, Washington. Contact them for info on
becomming a BETA tester for their new OS. One can look them up in the
phonebook.

How to apply to become a beta tester for Microsoft

Now now Mr. Alias, you don't become (one of) the worlds richest by giving it
way...

Set up a Beta program, make people believe they're taking part in something,
and have a say in it. And the rest takes care of itself. Do Beta testers at
least a free full copy of the developed software? Opps back to my first
sentence.

Cueless,

On a radio computer segment here a Pista Beater Tester, whom also writes or
PC Authority Magazine has claimed that to get the full capability of Pista
you'll need;

A 2GHz chip will do but a 3.0GHz or better.
256 MB Ram on the Graphics card
preferably 2GM RAM

Or you may have to turn in down abit, with not so such of the graphical
fireworks turned on.

Behold Cueless, for it would be a good idea at this point for someone
(someones) to decompile, reverse engineer Pista Beta and rebuild it into
something better and cheaper than the MS equivalent they propose to release
and beat them to just that. I'm sure they would blow their tops!!!! Hope
that's your intension.

That link is worth the paper its written onto!

Wait... there is no paper on the internet...

MY POINT EXACTLY! Its worthless.

Good.. because vista will be so bloated it will advance the whole market
and making powerful machines cheaper... then you can run your
linux on one of those machines better.

Of course you have nothing to do when you are using linux but anyway..

Your point is worthless.
If someone wants something they need to be willing to take the first step to
check what is available.
You obviously have no interest so it is worthless...to YOU.
To others with interest, there is value.

| How much does it pay?

Nothing as long as MS can find people dumb enough to work for free!
