This is more of an un-researched comment but I wanted to see if others are
having similar problems, and/or if I overlooked something. We've recently
attempted to deploy Vista onto a 15GB Partition
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3). WinXP SP2 is installed on partition 1,
with server 2003 SP1 on partition 2. It seems Vista decided to roll back
mid-way through the installation due to failure, and when the system rebooted
it mentioned that the "Boot Mgr missing."

I haven't done any in-depth research into this, So pardon my ignorance if I
have overlooked anything.

You should post this to the Beta newsgroup if you are a member of Vista Beta
or other appropriate newsgroup.

Also Beta 2 is not released yet.
Build 5231 is Beta 1 as is Build 5270 which was released today.

So we are having a lot of difficulty going to this Vista Beta newsgroup. I
take it that this isn't a free access newsgroup, wich seems kinda odd. I
guess the information sharing isn't as wide as it should be. Thank you for
informing me of such either way.

It *is* free - to those who were accepted into the Vista Beta program.
If you were not accepted into the Vista Beta program - then you must have
obtained it through another source.. as Vista is *not8 in public beta
status yet.

Well, there are directions. And saying that I am a user, obviously I'm using
the beta eval software I get monthly, as many other posters. And I understand
that the "Support and bug reporting channels are not available." Wich is
mostly likely because I'm just a random beneficiary and not a trusted user.
Since it seems we're working with great secrets here that are, were, founded
on general user to user knowledge of small communities with similar hobbies;
lets end the circles and assume one anothers level of interaction is
significant enought to see the light before their eyes.

However thank you for your interation and dedication that makes such forums
and lines of "support" useful as such.

I do find it odd that TechNet Plus subscribers receive the beta copies of
Windows Vista and there is no beta newsgroups setup, or I haven’t found it
yet, for TechNet Plus subscribers so they can share info and get help on it.
I just received the Vista CTP Build 5231 in my Dec. shipment, Also I have
read on several sites that Vista CTP Build 5270 was going to be available to
TechNet subscribers, is that true because I have not been able to find that
info on the TechNet site.
