I have been a Microsoft fan for years. I am sorry-Vista is awful-I am so
sorry I spent over $200 to upgrade. Nothing but trouble since I have
installed-I can't do anything simple like install the latest video driver-I
am a optomistic person always embrassing the latest technology but this is a
farce. Very upset...

Need more info: system specs, Vista flavor, to begin with. Clean install or
upgrade?

If you post specifics on exactly what is happening as well as details of
your hardware someone may be able to help.
Did you verify your computer was ready for Vista:

And

These are only advisories, you need to do appropriate research and make the
decision.

Is all your hardware and software compatible with Vista?
Do you have the latest Vista drivers for all your hardware?

However if you have already made up your mind, return Vista.
Returning Vista is easy if you live in North America, I am unsure about
other areas.

Vista seems cool but Windows Mail bugs drive me crazy, in other hand is
almost absurd how the big hardware companies didnt do anything to release at
least "ok drivers" to Vista.
M-audio until now dont have a single driver for any hardware, Nvidia drivers
are terrible, Asus dont show any Vista support for my P5VDC-X.
Windows Mail so far to me is the worst thing about windows vista, but the
companies have a lot to explain. I dont blame only Microsoft ..

It is a certified driver. I also had to jump thru hoops to install adobe
reader-it really shouldn't have to be this difficult. I am fairly computer
savvy-what is a normal user going to do?

P Iv 3.2 mghz, nvidia 7800, 2 megs ram. A clean install.

I had the same trouble with trying to install adobe reader-temp file not
available error.
I did the fix for the adobe-took way too much time to do-tried it with the
video driver and have not been able to get it to work yet.

It should not be that hard to install a program. What will a non computer
savvy user do?
I am sorry I got rid of xp-the vista interface is clunky and it should not
be this hard to do something easy.

IMHO - you have two options:

1) try to get your money back

2) be patient. It'll probably work reasonably well when SP2 comes out.

You are right. After spending three days restoring my computer I am not too
thrilled with starting all over again at sqaure one reinstalling xp-on the
other thing with things running so poorly I am not sure I can wait either for
a better future with a future patch.

I have had no issues installing the latest nVidia Vista drivers on my system
(XFX 7900GS) - also, I assume you meant 2GIGS! of ram not 2MEGS!
