Andrew

I might be able to help you with your first problem with the DVD-RW
are all your 64-bit drivers for the DVD-RW updated??
try computer>RIGHT click on the DVD-RW your having trouble
with>properties>hardware>the dvd your having trouble
with>properties>driver>update driver.

I currently dual-boot Vista 32-bit Home Premium and Vista 64-bit Ultimate,
both OEM versions. I have no problems with the 32-bit installation.

I was counting on SP1 to solve two problems with the 64-bit installation but
it did not.

Problem 1:
My DVD/RW disc (NEC DVD+-RW ND-3650A) will not read or write discs. Device
Manager reports no problems with the drive but it will not read a disc and
when I try to access it with Windows Explorer, Explorer freezes.

Problem 2:
Internet Explorer freezes for no apparent reason. This is not the same
problem I have seen posted here. I get no error message - it just freezes
when a link is clicked. I must use Task Manager to close it.

Can anyone help with either of these problems?

Andrew:

Thanks for your response. I have tried updating the driver. Also, deleted
the device and rebooted. Still no help.
