Take it back to Toshiba and tell them you are not happy with the product
they sold you.
Also ask if they can supply the next PC without a sticky caps lock key.

Ouch! Please don't yell at us. We can hear you if type normally, in
mixed case.

There's no way anyone can tell what your problems are from the *tiny*
amount of information you've provided. All anyone can do is guess, and
I'd rather not guess.

Start by telling us the hardware configuration of your computer.

What version of Vista? What applications do you run on it.

Describe the problem. How poor is "so poor"? Be specific. Put a number
on how long it takes to do something. Is performance always poor or
only when doing some things? What things? Are there other problems?
Describe them.

How old is the computer? Did Vista come pre-installed or did you
upgrade to it? Has the performance always been poor, or has it gotten
worse? When did the poor performance start? What changes (software
installation, downloads, etc.) did you make just before it started?

What does "JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING I KNOW" mean? Exactly *what* have you
tried?

What anti-virus and anti-spyware programs do you run? Are they kept up
to date.

OK.Ken lets see it says home premium 6.0.6000 build 6000, hardware,16386, it

Jay i am happy with toshiba . not happy with microsoft vista!

Interesting. You buy a laptop that hangs/crashes at every turn and you auto
blame the OS?
You could be right, it could be the Vista config but have you considered
that you may have a faulty hardware/config/etc?
Tell us what "tried everything I know" entails and we may be able to tell
you whether the problem is laptop of OD related.

You left out the most important thing. How much RAM?

ok now software
regcure for vista

Ugh! Registry cleaners cause problems, they don't solve them.

,intervideo from toshiba,ccleaner,

CCleaner is OK *if* you don't use its registry cleaning functions.

adobe
reader8,nero7,winamp5,winzip11,winrar,shareaza3,divx movies,nod32 from eset,
camera assist, games and what not from toshiba...

No anti-spyware programs? Just a guess, but poor performance is often
a symptom of spyware infection.

As I said, these are likely to make your problems worse, not better.

Vista runs very well *if* it has a good enough hardware configuration.
You didn't tell us how much RAM you have, but if it's less than 2GB,
it will never run well.

Over and above that, as I said, I suspect spyware infection.

Ken there is 2mg of ram, computer was built in jan. or feb of 2007, anti
spyware is eset manfacture nod32,it is better than avg which i had before.
now nero 8 i did not like the way it would run, nero 7.1.10 i like better is
supposed to be vista compatible.shareaza is p2p network which i monitor very
closely and will keep it also.I don't think it is infected. Iget up dates
daily for new data base from nod32. I don't know about hardware config. that
was done by toshiba. computer is p205-6297 satellite.if you wish check out
toshiba's website for hardware config. if you wish for ser # please contact
me i will give it private. ok

Ken there is 2mg of ram,

That's sufficient for most people. Unless you run particularly
memory-hungry programs, that's not your problem then.

Yes, NOD32 has a very good reputation, at least as an anti-virus
program. I don't know anything about its anti-spyware capabilities,
but note that a single such program is not good enough to protect you.
Note what Eric Howes, who has done extensive testing on Anti-Spyware
products, states:

"No single anti-spyware scanner removes everything. Even the
best-performing anti-spyware scanner in these tests missed fully one
quarter of the "critical" files and Registry entries" See
http://spywarewarrior.com/asw-test-guide.htm

So given that a single product is not enough for good protection, two
are better than one, three are better than two, and so on.

Do you "need" more than two? There's no clear answer to those
questions. My own practice is very conservative, and I
personally run

Spybot Search and Destroy
Adaware
Spyware Blaster
Windows Defender
Super-Antispyware
A-Squared

but not at the same time.

Since you are experiencing performance problems, I think you should at
least consider the possibility that you might be infected. I recommend
that you begin troubleshooting by going to MVP Malke's malware removal
site at
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware and
following the instructions there.
