visioneer 9020 scanner

when i install the drivers for the scanner it works fine
for a while then without restarting my computer it loses
its connection and i get the message can't locate scanner.
I delete the drivers, reinstall them and it works fine
for awhile again. Any ideas?

Have you downloaded the latest drivers from Visioneer. I haven't had any trouble
with the scanner losing connection. Are you using XP?

Can you scan above 1200 DPI into any other apps besides PaperPort? On my system,
it crashes other apps suchs as Digital Image Pro, Work, and Irfanview. The app
just exits with no errors after the scan is complete. I am using the Scan
Manager Pro driver.
