visibility

after having installed office 97 on a new xp pro system,
some buttons and text in other programs (for instance
ZoneAlarm) have lost their text!!
I suppose this has to do with XP dll-files having been
overwritten by old office 97 ones. Any suggestions what I
have to look for and how I can get full visibility again?

Visit the Microsoft Office Update website and download the updates,
beginning with SR-1, then SR-2.

Afterward, perform the following:

Run the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer:

Click Start > Run and type: CMD , and hit enter.
In the open box, type sfc /scannow (including space) and then click OK. Note
that you may be prompted to insert the Windows XP installation CD-ROM.

You will need the original XP Home CD to perform this task.

Utilize the following Windows XP utility programs, in this order:
