Twice in the last month I have received video files from friends and family
that have had short porn video files at the beginning that run once and then
afterwards the intended file shows up. The porn is gone forever. Where is
this porn from? Is it at my end? Something on my machine? Thanks, Steve T.

Save the file to disk and then run your av on it before opening it.

Well, out of about 50 video files it has happened twice. I don't really want
to start saving everything that comes in from people I trust. Just hoping
someone had a clue as to what end it was from. It's not the same porn
either. Thanks, Steve T.

Then run it on one of the ones you have and see if it is a virus. Is it
always from the same person or different people?

Well, if you want to be sure your computer is clean, do some scanning.
Here are steps:

That will answer the question of whether it is you or them. I'd also
like to point out to you that, contrary to what most people believe,
you are far more likely to get a virus from an email from someone you
*do* know than from someone you *don't* know. Many, many viruses send
an email to everyone in the infected computer's addressbook. Since
there is a high likelihood that your address is in your friend's
addressbook...
