My anti virus provider has alerted me that they found 2
viruses that they were unable to disinfect and that I
should delete the 2 programs. The 2 programs are:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\aupdate.exe and
\DEVICE\HARDDISKVOLUME2\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUPDATE.EXE. In
as much that these are execute programs what will the
effect be when I deletes these 2 programs(files)?

Hi Joe,

When you delete those files, Windows system file protection
system should replace them immediately using compressed
files kept in a reserved cache for this purpose on your drive.

Afterwards, I recommend you run a virus scan once again
to be absolutely certain that the files were replaced with
authentic copies unaffected by the virus. Best of luck. :-)
