ive got a trojan horse on my pc which as infected
c:\windows\system32\iexplore32.exe. My question is, is it safe to delete this
file or not.
or can anyone tell me a way of getting rid of this stupid virus?

thank you.

hi Kieran,

I would recommend running an anti virus program that may get rid of it (but
may not) but won't do any harm, a good idea to purchase a good one...i.e. The
Cleaner (you can get a good free 30 day trial of this too...well recommended)
or a FREE program called AVG. I hope this helps....it surely won't do any
harm.

ive tried the system restore method and still it wont get rid of it. ive got
norton antivirus 2003. it finds it when i do a scan but it cant get get rid
of it. So does anybody know how ?

DO NOT try a system restore for the virus is already saved in backup files and
will return when you restore after removing it. Run Norton again, when it
finds
it, it should give you three (3) choices: Repair, quarantine or delete.
Try each to
get rid of it. If you delete it, you can replace the file from your
WindowsXP CD
that came with your PC.

Contact the manufacturer of the PC you bought, give them the serial
number to prove you bought it, and they can mail you a CD.
