Hi, i was notified by my internet provider about the
above worm on Aug 11 2003. Yesterday (Sep 08 2003) i ran
my virus checker (AVG) which runs everyday and it warned
me that the above virus was detected and healed. Again
this morning (Sep 09 2003) on running the checker it
advises me that it has detected and healed it. On Aug 11
i received information from my internet provider on how
to remove this virus if i was infected. I did the
necessary checks including searching for msblast.exe
which failed to return a result..it would appear at that
time i was not infected. I have not had any of the
problems defined as associated with this worm and wonder
if anyone can advise me if they have had similar problems
and how to deal with it. I am concerned as to why it
would appear on my scheduler everyday.
Thank you

Download the patch and regedit referenced in the article below.
You may need to do this at an uninfected computer and burn to CD or
save on floppies.
Each file is small enough to fit on a floppy.

Thank you for your assistance I am now virus free!!..I
would like to add that I also visited the following web
page and downloaded McAfee Avert Stinger.I don't know if
this will be of assistance to other users, as this
identified the problem and removed it. The Stinger
download searches and removes 30 well known viruses.
