I'm assuming a rather serious virus has infected my computer
Days ago, in searching for song lyrics, Hotbar (and who knows what else) managed to get into my system. I tried to uninstall it myself but failed miserably. Next step was downloading Ad-Aware (by Lavasoft) to remove Hotbar (and everything else that I didn't know about). At that time I also installed some XP updates
Afterwards my system was running fine but Windows Media Player wasn't working for some reason so I (fatefully) decided to restart my computer. Big mistake. My system loads into the Log-in screen, and so I click on my profile (or any profile for that matter) and it says, "logging in." My desktop (my favorite painting by Shiele) flashes for a second and then the blue screen comes back and says "logging off." This is maddening
The system does the same in safe mode as well
Is there anyway my files can be saved, my system restored
I wish I could go to Microsoft about this but I'm a lowly AmeriCore*VISTA with absolutely no money for this
Thanks so much
Jessica
