I have Windows XP installed and also Norton anti-virus
(2003) which is regularly updated but the message "NORTON
HAS DETECTED AND REMOVED A VIRUS FROM YOUR COMPUTER". It
displays the virus name as Win32Nimda.enc,
Win32Nimda.A@mm (dll). This message prompts the user to
press OK and I am really tired of pressing ok hundreds of
times. I am really frustrated now and I am thinking of
formatting my computer and using Linux if I don't get a
permanent solution for it.

If any solution is there kindly send it to me at the
earliest so that I don't have to format my computer.

If you cannot remove / handle a simple windows virus, and
you are opening emails and files that contain viruses, you
will not be able to understand or use linux. Its harder to
learn and there is not much readable good help for a
noob. Ask a question and you will be insulted. And if you
add hardware, you have to recompile the os. I would not do
this unless you are sure you know what you are getting
into.
