Virus or other thing ?

I've tried to download some virus programs such as McAfee scan virus to
check my computer and after downloaded and installed, it cannot find the
..exe.

Also some of the web site that I had do not work any more.

Is this a virus or something like a firewall protection ?

My bet is a virus. Its the only thing i know of that will remove anti-virus
software unless you uninstalled it. Which i assume u didn't. the websites
you cant visit are they by any chance any of the ones listed below??
