virus? monitor going up?

My monitors color is suddenly darker no matter how i adjust it and when i have programs open they have clear grey lines coming off of them. I have no idea what is wrong or how to fix it if it is a fixable problem. help please

Maybe your video driver needs updating... Go to the manufacturer's web site and look
around.

The process of elimination is the best troubleshooting technique . Can you
try a different monitor ? Jym
