virus infection etc - how to clean it? 724

After download AVG and seemingly did not download other things. Now I cannot
see my mails in Outlook Express in the sense that when I open the mail box,
its all ?????? (questions marks). Strangely, for the old mails, for say my
statement, I can see alternative months. The other problem that I have now is
when I send an email to my friend, she complained that she received 50
copies.Norton does not show any infection so far and running Spybot 1.4 at
the moment . How can I resolve this, thanks

What does the "724" in the message subject refer to? Here are some links

Try to go to Elephant website but it says because of the security settin, it
prevents the ACTIVE X controls .....- does cannot display. I try to put the
Tools>IO> to the lowest level but still it cannot display.

Hi, Hillary - Elephant Boy Computers is mine and my site is plain old
html with no Active X anything so there is definitely something wrong
with your computer.

Go to the site from a different, known-clean computer and read the
instructions and download any malware removal tools you will need. Save
the removal tools onto a usb thumbdrive or burn to CD-R.

After running Adware 1.6, Spybot 1.4 and Nav2007, the situation remains the
same that is when I open the content of my mail, it whole lot of ???
(original its simplified chinese characters) but for those of English words,
its ok. (I ran all the above in Safe mode and Normal mode) I have also update
the Microsoft Office Basic Edition 2003. By the way sorry for the wrong info,
I am using Microsoft Outlook 2003.
When I try to do a search of *.dbx files, the search shows up "nil" That
would mean I can even re-install the MS Office 2003. Could it be the fonds?
If so, how can I download the fonds.?

Stand to reason: Outlook uses PST files; Outlook Express uses DBX files.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1

It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with
