I run XP Pro, and use AVG Anti-Virus. When AVG has run it's nightly scan, it is detecting a virus called Downloader.Istbar.3.bk in System32 IE.exe. I am not allowed to move the infected file to the virus vault.

Given that, any clues as how I get rid of it? I've searched for the specific file though Windows search, Spysweeper, BHO Demon, and Hijack This. None of those applications turn up anything

Thanks in advance :)

Do you have the file in the location that AVG has indicated ? Go to
system32IE and right click on the files in that location , scan with AVG .If
so boot into Safe Mode and delete the file from that location. Jym
