I just bought a brand new emachine and os is is xp. All i use it for is email , and within a week it was saying that my virtual memory is to low and cannot run certain programs. I do not know what to do. or where to go to fix this.. any ideas? Im not a compuer wiz but can follow pretty detailed instructions/

How large is your hard disk and how much free space? In Windows Explorer right click on your C drive and select Properties.

How good is your housekeeping?

1. In Outlook Express empty your Deleted Items folder.

2. In Outlook Express run File, Folder, Compact All whilst OFFLINE.

3. Run Disk Cleanup. Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk
Cleanup.

4. Run Disk Defragmenter.

~~~~~~
Hope this helps.
With a PC that new, one would think that the company who sold it should
set it right. Have you
checked with their warranty or support folks?
I have the same problem!!! virtual memory
My DH bought me a pavilion notebook...40 gig HD
only 256 RAM
so far...............I hate it..........I use DSL, and HP help is on an 800
number.........so I need to switch wires...again
if anyone can just send e in the right direction for help with win xp home
not sure what you are talking about with DSL you can still use your regular
phone it should be no problem at all using it for high speed internet and
regular phone calls!
