Virtual Memory Low

Scenario:
Win 2000 upgraded to Win XP Pro

XP alerts me when i boot that there is not enough virtual
memory so it creates a temporary paging file. I go in to
try and change the Virtual memory size and it allows me
to change it and it asks me to restart. Upon restart it
gives me the same error message as the first time. I have
adjusted the size of the paging file several times hoping
that there is some "magic" combinations but to no avail.
My computer is performing fairly poor due to these
conditions and i would appreciate any ideas anyone may
have. Take care.

Open Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs and look for an entry for
the Intel Application Accelerator. If it is listed then select it and
click on Add/Remove to uninstall it. Reboot the computer and your
problem should be resolved.

And if the Intel Application Accelerator was installed then you should
go to www.intel.com and download the latest version of the Intel
Application Accelerator and install it.

If that does not apply to your situation then see MVP Alex Nichol's
article on virtual memory in Windows XP at
http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm especially the section dealing with
problems.
