Hi,
Could someone explain the following warning that keeps flashing up on my
computer "Virtual memory low warning................." ?
I have looked into this before and decided to get some more ram fitted and I
thought it had sorted the problem out but it has not.
The message appears when I am using the PC to watch television on and I am
running several other programs at the same time.
Any ideas.
Cheers
Scott.

make sure your virtual memory is set correctly.
not sure what kind of PC specs you have but you could very
well be running out of memory with TV, etc running all at
once depending on your PC capabilities.
virtual memory can be found by
right clicking on my computer
select advanced tab
select the first settings button
advanced tab
select change button at the bottom
select custom size bullet
set initial size at about 1000MB less than the max
set maxium size at about 15% of your RAM amount
these numbers can be played with and you will probably
find many opinions on what this should be set it.
do a search on google also for better accurracy.

hit the set button
and you will need to reboot
see if that helps, and play with those numbers to see if
there are any improvements, if not you need more memory or
stop using so many apps at one time
good luck
April

Hello
Virtual memory low warning
Is not a hardware issue but a software problem.
Open task manager and see which program is hogging up all your memory and
remove or repair it.

Hi,
I have just had a look at the task manager and the TV software is using the
most memory. You mentioned to remove it or repair it ? I need the software
and said programs running at the same time so I can not remove or not use
any of the programs together is there anything else I can do eg more RAM or
try altering the virtual memory setup as the April suggested?
Cheers
Scott.

Check out the problems section at my page www.aumha.org/win5/a/xpvm.htm

And get the tool linked there from the 'how big a page file' and check
on just how much of the file you are using. This may be one of the
spurious messages mentioned in the Problems: I have also heard (without
confirmation) that NAV 2004 or Norton internet Security can do this
