virtual device driver error

Just hoping someone who knows their stuff can help me out. When attempting to start up a game cd, I get this error message 'C:PROGRA~\Symantec\S32EVNT1.DLL An installable Virtual Device Driver failed Dll initailization.'
I have had no trouble in past with other games, many larger and newer. Is there an easy fix for this?

Hi,

This is a Norton problem, you should contact their support for assistance.
Their software may need to be reinstalled or updated with a patch to fix it.

The problem appears to be related to Symantec. Try to play the game
while you temporarily disable your NAV.
