Go to the Tools menu, choose Speech, and chose "Show The Speech
To Text Toolbar". On that toolbar, turn of the "Speak On Enter"
button.

Thank you so very much! You have helped me to slay a big dragon! May the
rest of you day be as good as mine!

keh0717 and Chip,

Did I fall down in a time warp? Or were the two of you joking?
The Speech To Text Toolbar ??? Never heard of it, does it really exist?
What have I missed the last hundred years?
I use XP + Excel 2k.

Jack,

The Speech tools (text to speech and voice recognition) were
added in Office 2002.

Chip,

Does it really work and does it work as it should?
Speech To Text, I suppose in English only?

Jack.

Jack,

Speech To Text is pretty good; better than I expected. I don't
use it often, but it was a fun toy to play with when it was
released. I use the Text To Speech feature more often (e.g.,
proofreading a column of numbers).

I'm not sure of the languages that are supported. When it was
released, it supported English and, I think, Japanese.
