Is it possible to increase the size of the window displaying the speaker's
notes when doing a dual screen presentation? I use a small laptop as I travel
a lot and have difficulty seeing the notes, and constantly having to scroll
the notes because they are displayed in a tiny window at the bottom of the
screen.

The bar that separates the slide image from the notes can be dragged up as far
as you want. That will increase the Notes Pane.

I can drag the bar up when in programming mode and writing the notes, but
when in presentation mode it is not possible to do so.

It seems that you are talking about Presenter View. Presenter View does not
allow the notes region to be resized.

You might want to look at PowerShow add-in at
http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html - - among other things, it
enables you to use the normal PowerPoint views when projecting. It keeps the
slide design views in-sync with the slide being projected. This would allow
you to see your full slide and notes in normal PowerPoint view. The normal
PowerPoint view allows you to resize the notes region.

I have downloaded Powershow and got the Presentation on one screen and my
notes on the full second screen BUT (!) I can't progress the slide show ie I
can't get beyond the first slide!

Any suggestions??

Now things are going from bad to worse.

If I use mormal Powerpoint I can get the presentation on one screen and the
Speaker's Notes on the other screen, but only see a small part of the
Speaker's Notes.

If I use PowerShow I can get a full screen of Speaker's Notes but nothing on
the presentation screen and I cannot get the presentation to move forward
anyway.

Is this Power Show any good or have I just loaded one piece of crap software
onto another? Which software company does it come from?

I have been told that Apple has a better product. Is this so? Does anyone
know of anything that actually works??

Dave, or anyone else who's tried power show - before I invest in it, I'd like
to know how well it works. Have you had good luck getting your notes
formatted and visible during a presentation?

You might want to try PowerShow to see if it meets your requirements. The
trial version is available for download at
http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html. The steps listed at
http://officeone.mvps.org/ppttips/view_notes_slideshow.html would help you
configure PowerShow for viewing formatted notes on the primary monitor and
slide show on the secondary monitor.

Let me know if you need more information.
