Viewing .pst files (archiving).

Is there an alternate to using Outlook to open and view a .pst file? I'd
like to archive emails for future access but am concerned that some future
upgrade of Outlook will make the file format obsolete. I have had no luck
trying to archive messages in other formats (Access, etc).

If you are concerned about future access, you could install Thunderbird, and
periodically import your Outlook messages into that. The mailboxes that
Thunderbird uses are in the MBox format, which basically are just big text
files, and so can be read by any text editor.
