I have a small "home network".

Intel P4 2.53Ghz with 512M ram and XP home is the gateway to a DSL modem
for two PII era Intel Celeron PC's running Win98SE. I am also running
Norton Antivirus 2003 and ZoneAlarm Plus. The local network is set up with
the fixed 192.169.0.x IP's and 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.

When I attempt to "View Workgroup Computers" from the "My Network Places"
window on my XP machine, I get an hourglass, and after about 30 seconds the
list of the three computers shows up. On the two 98SE computers, the
workgroup pops up almost instantaneously.
There are no other problems, and printer sharing and file sharing are
flawless.

Is this normal for XP? If not, what might be misconfigured to cause this?

Thanks for any musings. I'll gladly supply any other pertinent info if
needed.
