View>Page Size?

Hi,

I realise that this must be obvious, but I must admit I am struggling.

FrontPage 2003 - Menu: View>Page Size:

I know that the figures in parentheses refer to screen resolution, and the
figures preceding are the actual page size given as a canvas - but what is
the relationship between the two sets of dimensions given for different Page
Sizes: e.g.

955 x 600 (1024 x 768 Maximized)

i.e.. If I want to design a page for a monitor with a resolution of 1024 x
768 - Why am I given 955 x 600 to work with?

Clearly I need to keep in mind the space taken by menu bars and borders
etc. - but how is the figure of 955 x 600 calculated?

Ideally I would like to create Web Pages to be viewed on monitors with a
resolution of 1280 x 1024.

If I add my own Page Size, how do I calculate what to give as the Width &
Height?

Thanks

Colin.

Seat of pants. It's a close approximation, but a meaningless one, since you
have no idea how many people in your demographic actually maximize their
browser.

Don't waste your time. That's MUCH to large.
