I would like the default setting for the View Menu options on ALL MY WINDOWS
OPENED to be"Details". Including Open and Save As windows.

How can I do this?

Thanks ahead, as always.

Explorer|View|Details Then Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|View, then "Apply
To All Folders". Depending on your likings, you may also need to check
"Remember each folder's view settings"

"Remember each folder's view settings"

thanks and follow up if i might, so what does the "remember each folder's
view settings do"?

does it mean that that folder will ALWAYS come up the way it was when i last
closed it? It was set and maybe that's what was making everything SO
mish-mash!

so i turned it off....

** Correct

It was set and maybe that's what was making everything SO
mish-mash!

so i turned it off....
** I would have said the opposite but glad to hear it's sorted.

You can't do this for the common dialog boxes - Open and Save As.

A different post recommended ExplorerXP freeware. ExplorerXP displays
details, for all views, and it shows Folder size in the standard view (you
don't have to hover over the folder to see its size). www.explorerxp.com
