view header/footer option in Word

Hi, I seem to have lost the view header footer in my new documents. How do I
get it back? I can't even insert a header footer. Please help.

Try Resetting your toolbars by doing this:

On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.
Click the Toolbars tab.
In the Toolbars box, click the name of the toolbar you want to restore.
Click Reset.
 
What happens when you use View | Header and Footer? If that makes the
header/footer visible, see
