Hi,

I want to use my videocamera for webcam.
When connecting a device to the usb port windows XP gives
normally 1x a " ding-dong" sound.
When i connect my videocamera (JVC GR-D70E)to the USB
Port windows XP gives me 2 times a "ding-dong"
In the USB root-hub the video camera is 2 times mentioned.
The problem is that the camera is working in
videoprograms but is not able to function in for example
MSN messenger. In the audio/video tuning wizard i can see
a image from the camera but in the "web camera setting" i
got the message that the camera is not connected or in
use by another program.
MSN can not help me further......... Who can.....
Greetings Harm Schinkel

The USB port on my JVC GR-DVL520 is for transferring photos and is seen as a
storage drive, such as a hard drive would. My camcorder also has a firewire
(i-link) connector for transferring video data. I'm under the impression that
many DV camcorders can be used as web cams by using the software here:

http://www.orangemicro.com/webcamdv.html

The web page says, "Works with MS NetMeeting, Yahoo Messenger, AOL Messenger &
many others"
