Looking for any help, spent about 7 hours today troubleshooting.
I captured some video with Windows Movie Maker. When I play it back from my
C drive it works great. However I moved it to my D drive which is the same
drive size and speed. However when I play it pack from the D drive its choppy
and as soon as I transfer it back to C, no problems. I tried another drive as
my D. I also formatted and defragged it but no luck. I also plugged in an
external USB drive and moved the video to that and it worked fine. The
problem is only with the internal drive in the second bay. Any help, please??

It seems to happen mostly when playing an AVI. I played an MPEG of
approximately the same size and it played smooth. I also took the AVI file
and loaded it on the second drive of another computer in the house; this
computer which is much less powerful had no problems with it. ????

I am not sure about the 80 wire? I think so. They are on the same cable that
goes to the Mother Board. I tried switching the positon they were on the
cable and it did not change. It's a Dell 3.2 with 1 gig of Ram. if that
helps. Thanks for your reply!

In your troubleshooting, did you run CHKDSK D: /R ? Did you check eventvwr
to see if there are any errors? When you installed the drive, how were the
jumpers set? Dell would ship the drive they installed as CS (cable select).
If you set the additional drive to Master or Slave, it would not function
correctly.
