Video Issues

I just built an image with the componentized VGA drivers. Everything seems
to work fine except the CRT is slightly blury, with a slight ghost image.
It doesn't do it on the remote desktop just on the local CRT. I figured
this was a Frequency issue that might be causing it, but I'm using what the
manufacturer recommended 1024 x 768 x 32bit @ 60 hz. At the other refresh
rates I don't get any video at all.

It happens to be a S3 Twister chipset. I'm I on the right path here about a
fresh rate causing this? I checked and the proper drivers are loaded fine.
It did not do it with the VGA SAVE but that was @ 800 x 600.

Just a thought - how does the VGA react if you put Pro on that unit?

Hi Richards,

1. Replace monitor.
2. Try XP.
3. If this is refresh rate than it must work.
4. Maybe graphic adapter is defect.
5. Can you describe this blury effect, is this related to everything or only to fonts?

Best regards,
Slobodan

are you accessing machine from remote computer?? if so then remote
desktop is nothing do with your VGA but will be that of remote
computer.

check if your monitor supports that resolution and refresh rates.

Only fonts, they all have about 1/8" shadow.

It's the CRT plugged into the Target that is blurry, but the VGA on the
remote desktop is fine.

Have tried the suggestions of Linda and Slobodon?? and Post your
observations. i remember we have tried with S3 twister once and we
dont find any odd behaviour.
