video insert in power point

My Power point will accept either a movie clip MPEG file or a Windows media
file .wmv but will only play the .wmv file. How do I get it to play the mpeg
file?

Two possible solutions;

1. Figure out what sort of mpeg file it is and then install the right codec.
(This means any other PC you show the presentation on will also need the
codec installed.)

2. Convert and insert the media file automatically with PFCMedia. (You can
download a fully functioning two week trial from www.pfcmedia.com.)
