video goes off; sound plays after WMP upgrade

After upgrading the Windows Media Player to either 9 or 10 ( beta ) the video plays only for around 10 seconds and then stops but the sound plays
Also updated to direct X 9.0b and video card drvers. Intel 810 is the graphics card controller

Thanks for any help in this regard !
 
Why are you installing the beta of 10? Are you a beta tester? Sounds like
you screwed over your system and WMP.
