Hi,

Posted this query a couple of days ago but received no
replies so am trying again in the hope someome can help !

I have a mpeg2 video that plays on a Win XP Pro SP1
machine, both in windows media player 9 and with the
standard mediaplayer32.

The machine has both ppt2000 and ppt2002 loaded.

On inserting the movie to a slide under ppt2000 the movie
plays fine.

Upon inserting the same movie and playing in ppt2002 I get
some strange results, namely that the last few frames of
the movie do not play.

Any suggestions anyone ?

What happens when you open PowerPoint 2002 and then open the presentation
created in PowerPoint 2000 and play it?

Hi Sonia,

When I create the presentation in 2000, 2002 or 2003 then
play in 2002 or 2003 the last few frames of the video do
not play when in slideshow mode. Curiously, the video
does play to the end if I double click on it in slide
sorter mode.

When I create the presentation in 2000, 2002 or 2003 and
play the presentation in 2000 it finishes fine.

Cheers

Dave

Just as a test, add a small rectangle to the slide. Give it a Custom Animation
effect of "Appear". Set it to appear after previous. You can then give the
rectangle "no fill" and "no line". I'm thinking that for some reason the slide
is transitioning prematurely. This rectangle adds another event to the slide
set to occur after the video completes. Maybe it will cause the video to play
completely. Just a stab in the dark.

Hi Sonia,

Thanks for the speedy reply,

Tried your suggestion but to no avail. All that happens
is the movie finishes early and then the rectangle appears.

Any other ideas ?

Dave

Dave,
What happens if you set the rectangle to after plus 4 or 5 seconds? Does the
movie finish then? If so, you can adjust the timing for the box smaller and
smaller until it is right. If not, try setting the delay to something really
huge as a test and see if that makes a difference.
