My video driver is not loading. I can't update my drivers because that
is not an option on any menu as the video adapters section of my
hardware manager is not there. Running the driver setup program I
downloaded doesn't do a thing either.

What to do next?

Do you have a CD for your video card with a setup program, or can you
burn one from a download?

Q. "What to do next?"

A. Tell us if you have a notebook or desktop computer
and what video adapter or graphics card you have.

desktop machine, MSI MS-StarForce GeForce FX 5200 (NVIDIA GeForce FX
5200) video adapter. I've tried looking at the msi site, but all they
have is drivers for the card, I don't see any installation disk downloads

yes, I've been there too, but without a means to install them, all the
drivers in the world won't do me any good, as all the instructions I've
require installation through the hardware manager, and (I'm not trying
to sound annoyed) for the fifth time, I don't have that option.

Thank you Kelly for responding, but I actually don't. If I use add
hardware manager it certainly doesn't detect the video card. If I try
and install manually, it's not listed as a choice either, and if I go
"have disk" and point to the proper directory with the drivers, it comes
back as digitally signed, but there is no device choice to associate the
driver to

Most welcome, Tom. Ok, copy the drivers into a folder directly under your
root drive. Extract them and give the folder an A name of some sort for
easy finding. Once done, while using have disk point to the folder. When
any "not found", etc happens, read the details to see what exactly it is
looking for and follow the path.

If that doesn't help, you may need to be in VGA mode
(Start/Run/Msconfig/Boot.ini/Basevideo). Mark the setting, then reboot.
Once done, go to Add Hardware. If still no go, place the card in another
slot and or, remove the card, install the drivers, then place the card,
repeat.

Good luck!
